India's National Green Tribunal has fined a board in Delhi for failing to desilate a stormwater drain in the national capital, the Times of India reports. The board was ordered to pay a fine of around $33,000 after the tribunal found that slits for desilting the drain in Defence Colony were not secured properly. The tribunal ordered the board to file an affidavit by the end of the month. According to the Hindustan Times, the National Green Tribunal was hearing a case regarding the desilting of stormwater drains to prevent flooding during monsoon season.
